again ! It seems that time flies again....I'm doing a quick update about a
clinic that I did on the Funk Fingers technique back to last June. On the Newspaper called "La Prealpina" there was a beautiful writing about me : EVEN TONY LEVIN "PROMOTE" MAURO AIMETTI (Title)
VARESE - (da.iel.) - Many years ago he decided to try it, and after the United States, a lot of concerts, a good knowledge of the Rock and a particular interest entirely for the Funk and the Jazz, he got his bass on the shoulder... he was bound for London. An only passion - the music - and an only desire: to be able to play. Mauro Aimetti-protagonist this today @ Molteni, at 17.30 o'clock, for a seminar regarding the Funk Fingers, the "mini drumstick attached to the right hand" and with which the electric bass strings are hammered - he has succeeded. The last, great musician, which deserved him - "wow, Great job, man! You are so fast and your sound is very clean!!... ", he has told him - he has been really Tony Levin, bassist of Peter Gabriel that he has turned the Funk Fingers from technical tool into tool of cult. A particularly expensive compliment to Aimetti that arrives after the successes of the held clinic last year to the Festival of Villa Arconati (over 150 bassists coming from Italy), to the relationship with Victor Wooten, to the invitation of Phil Palmer, to London, to actually assist to the fiftieth Anniversary of the birth of the Fender trademark to the Musik Messe 2005 of Frankfurt where Mauro, called by Francesco D'Alessandro Guitars & Basses, is protagonist of some, successful, demonstrations. Its name appears, so, beside Jeff Berlin, Stuart Hamm and Jhonas Hellborg and its performances interest even the Polish SAT TV, that finally devotes him a long spot. Few months ago it has been the time of the Disma in Rimini: GALLI STRINGS, "fourth world power in the production and sale of the guitar and bass strings", they want him to the fair leader of the musical intruments where the artist from Varese leaves the sign comparing himself, even, with Linley Marthe, active bassist in the Weather Report of Joe Zawinul. And it now touches to Varese. With a seminar - title "Groove, Melody & Solo" - without doubt able to interest the musicians but also the simple curious; fact of theory, practice and so many curiosities. In schedule also an original composition - "Jacob's way", devoted to his child - and, in closing, "Sledgehammer" of Gabriel sung by Bernardo Lanzetti, already historical voice of the italian Progressive Rock Band Pfm. 8th of March 2005 - Hi, tempus fugit....Time
flies !!! It's very long time ago that I don't update my website, but you know I was so busy moving in our brand new house back in August ! Than I was back again in London in September time.....! Well, I'm doing a couple of Updates : The first one is going back to June 2004 when I've got the chance to meet up Mr. T.M. STEVENS an amazing bass player (Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, Miles Davis !! and James Brown (Do you remember "Living in America" from the movie soundtrack ROCKY IV ? That's incredible groovy bass line is provided by T.M. !) T.M. is Great in a total way: funny, gently, Funky amazing guy ! He's just Rocking the Bass !! He's the man who created the FUNK MACHINE bass by Cort that I have it in my arsenal (I think, I was the first one to get this wonderful bass in Italy at the time). It was so funny when I showed the photo of my band off to T.M. and I said to him: "I'm sorry man, but you stolen my bass !!".... :-O T.M. broke into laughter ! Anyway here it goes the shot with T.M.
Me and T.M. Stevens hang on in the backstage....He told me: "Come on Teacher !" Nice one !!! The second Update is going back in September 2004 (more recently !) when I've got an invitation to see the rehearsal for the Strat Pack Miller Show. The 50° Anniversary of the FENDER. So, I've got the chance to stay for a week together with some world of fame musicians... I've met Mr. David GILMOUR (Pink Floyd), Mr. Bryan MAY (Queen), Mr. Joe WALSH (Eagles).... I'm taking a breathe.....than in the House band (all amazing musicians) on Bass there was..... Yeah, finally I've realized my dream, I've met Mr. Fantastic Pino PALLADINO ! My other big influence on the Fretless bass after Jaco ! Pino is Great, he's the Top man ! First of all he's really humble and relaxed guy, nice one !! There was a very good vibes between me and Pino during all the rehearsal time (I was just getting into the Show !! ;-O ...) Here it goes my shot with Pino !

21/07/2004 It was an amazing,
unic, event my Workshop in Bollate (Milan). One of the most beautiful
Clinic in absolute that I have done. There were 150 bassist's enrolled
from Italy! A lot of attention and a lot of interesting questions have
been me turned at the end of my Clinic on the technique of the
"FUNK FINGERS." (Drum Stick by Tony Levin).

I've got confirmation that I'm
playing this SUNDAY 11th OF JULY @ the prestigious Festival in VILLA ARCONATI in BOLLATE (MILAN) for an amazing unic event !!! I'm doing a Clinic by myself of 45' Minutes around called: GROOVE, MELODY AND SOLOING FOR "FUNK FINGERS" (DRUM STICK BY TONY LEVIN) - SLAP TECHNIQUE FOR THE FRETLESS BASS. I'm going to endorser VF GUITAR WORKS that they have beautibul hand-made basses 4, 5, 6, 7 & 9 Strings !!! I'm trying to use for my Bass Clinic the 9 Strings, which is made by a 5 fretted strings on the top plus a 4 Fretless belove in the same fingerboard !!!! WILD SPACE !!! I HOPE THAT MY MENTOR JACO WILL HELP ME TO STRETCH MY HANDS ON IT ! It will begin all @ 10,30 in the morning and I'm going to do my Clinic @ 11,30 after Joery Hommerson that they told me is a "Monster" on the Slap tecnique !!!! BUT.................................. AT 9 O'CLOCK IN THE EVENING...........THE MAIN CONCERT WILL BE ON THE BEAUTIFUL CENTRAL STAGE WITH.................LADIES & GENTLEMAN: Mr. YO' VICTOR WOOTEN..............!!!! 10th of May 2004 - Hi there ! I'm just
back from London, where I've spent almost one month playing with the
Australian singer Alistair WATSON
for his UK Tour 2004. The Tour was a real success, getting a lot of
positive feedback from people were coming down @ the Gigs and all the
dates were SOLD OUT !!!
Than, I'm very proud, to have spent a lot of time recording some burning Bass-Tracks for the New upcoming release of my Buddy Pete BENGRY "Skywalker" (Wonderful percussionist for the Cornershop Indie band !!!) Pete was on board with me during Alistair Watson UK Tour as well....It was a lot of fun..... :)
Also, I'd like to give a Special Thank's to Martin Petersen (Top Man !) and to John Chapman (Amazing and Brilliant guy !) @ The Gallery in Camden, for setting up in such a beautiful way my Fretless Bass ! (Just for people maybe don't know, Martin, is building up a Six Strings Bass for British Bass legend Pino PALLADINO !!!)
But let's talk from the beginning ! I've to tell you about my amazing experience that I did a while back, at the end of March - firsty days of last April, playing @ the prestigious and the Biggest Showroom in the world : The MUSIK MESSE in Frankfurt ! Well, I'd like to begin, telling you, that I was the only one Italian Bass player - demonstrator playing in this Greatest Showroom alongside some World of fame Bassist such as: Carlos Bonavento (Bassist for Miles DAVIS, Chick COREA, actually on Tour with Al DIMEOLA.... !!!), Stefan Hergenroeder (amazing bassist from Germany); there will be soon some Gigs and Workshops together with Stefan, he asked me to play with him a Bass-duo !!!, I'll keep you posted, as soon as I will get the Tour dates.... ! ;O
And the last but not the least, Mutsuhiro Shirafune (Bassist - demonstrator for the V-Roland Midi System from Yokohama)
It was a real success for Bachmann Guitars, a huge affluence of people @ our stand for the Demo-Showcases and a lot of interest for the beautiful instruments made by Rudolf. Also, I think we were the only musicians offering 5 Demo's each one day for a total of 20 mini-concerts just in only 4 days of The Showroom ! Just after my first Demo, I've got an interview with the German Radio 1st Channel, 'cause they were knocked down, to see me playing with my FREDDIE KRUEGER "FUNK FINGERS" - by TONY LEVIN. The same thing, happened the second morning @ The MUSIK MESSE, I've got a Spot on the TV digital channel SAT. 1, the troupe was intrigued to see me playing with the Drum-sticks and all the people were coming down to watch my performance were attracted as well, asking me a lot of informations about the FREDDIE KRUEGER thing.... !!!
Great success @ our stand and very positive feedback from many Bass players were coming down to watch my Demo - Showcase. They simply loved my Fretless Bassy sound ! I'm so happy and proud about that, 'cause, me and Mr. Bachmann have worked very hard to get out the best sound from this beautiful bass handmade with a careful choice of woods used. Than, I've contributed a lot changing both Pick - ups and electronic as well (both made by BARTOLINI).
At MUSIK MESSE 2004, I've got the chance to try and getting as a gift - Sponsor a beautiful jack - cable, a superb lead....I was able to hear immediatly the big difference respect to the other cable I was playing just before that !! I've got much more power (Wow, what a louder Volume !), more Clean, Clear Sound with richfull harmonics and I can hear much more better both my Fretless and Fretted basses through my speakers - cabinet...Real Clear and Punchy sound in it !!! Another one important meeting people @ the MUSIK MESSE was with the founder and maker Chris May, owner of the Beautiful Overwater Basses from UK. I've tried some models, including one amazing 7 strings fretted bass, with blue lighting leds on the fingerboard.....A kind of luxury Rolls Royce....!!!

announce that I've got
Official endorsement for Bachmann Electric Basses !
They are beautiful instruments completely handcrafted and made by the good
one Bass-technician Rudolf Bachmann who lives in Sudtirolo (up to the
North in Italy) in an incredible place called Antholz. This is a oasis
surrounded by woods, mountains, lakes and big green places, just few
minutes by car from Austria borderline. I was contacted direct by Rudolf to
begin a work-relationship as endorser. The gear that he gaves me is
a beautiful 5 strings Fretless bass handmade with a careful choice of woods
used: Ebony fingerboard, ect...I thought to do a nice thing uploading

20th of December 2003 - Hi again folks
! I've just updated some sections of the website. New musical Credits
added on my C.V.
section. Also, I've updated the
MULTIMEDIA link uploading 2 New amazing Videos. They are taken from my performance that I did along
with Jim LAMPI
(Stick-player from California, he's one
of the best cats around !) We did the gig @ the n. 1 Club in London called
KASHMIR KLUB.

for giving me the Videos and for his
friendship too. I hope there will be a Tour together with Jim in the close future, it would be a lot of fun ! 11th of July 2003 - Hi there ! I'm back
with my update thing ! As you know I'm currently living in London...I
simply love this big city ! Everyday there's something new to discover,
really exciting about music, but also about living experience, 'cause
London is a really Big, Big Multietnic city ! I did many gigs with a lot
of Great singer-songwriters, but maybe the best one was with
Alistair WATSON
(born in Scotland, but growing up in Australia) This very talented guy
could be the new Brian Adams !!! In that gig, I was spotted by
Benny who
was UK POP Band DEPECHE MODE drummer ! Also, I'm getting real VERY POSITIVE
FEEDBACK FROM TOP UK SESSION-MAN & PRODUCERS. People, that usually call N.
1 Top Studio & "Live" Bassist like:
PINO PALLADINO,
TONY LEVIN
(PETER GABRIEL) or CHUCHO
MERCHAN (EURYTHMICS, DAVID
GILMOUR).....!! Could you imagine my happyness :) !!! Well, I promise to

| 17th of December 2002 - Hello ! Yes, I have to apologize with everybody 'cause it's a long time ago that I've to update my website....But, you know I was very busy...!! Anyway, I'm not feeling like a ghost, I spent my last 3 months living in London playing and recording around with some UK World of class musicians and much more...!!! So, my future will be flying up and down from Italy to England...(I've to say thank's to my webmaster T.G. for the airplane gifani on the TOUR DATES link that was a good wish for me !!).
