MAURO AIMETTI
- Electric Bass -
Mauro Aimetti began to study music at a young age starting with a classical instrument: the guitar. After a number of years he felt the need to change the tone of his music and consequently instrument. His passion for the electric bass was sparked listening to a bass player in a jazz club. The same bass player (Massimo Spinosa) became his first teacher and after one year, in 1986, Mauro started studying the double-bass at the Civic College of Music in Varese. Prior to this, in the early eighties, he began working in the theatre as author, actor and director. |

From 1988-1989 he attended the second year of double-bass and took the
diploma of theory and solfeggio at the Vivaldi Conservatory in Alexandria
(Italy). At the end of 1989 he deepened his studies of the electric bass
and his playing of Jazz and Fusion music and so a large part of 1990 was
spent in lecture rooms and laboratories at the prestigious BERKLEE COLLEGE
OF MUSIC in Boston (USA).

concerts in various jazz clubs in Italy with 'M.A. Dangerous Quartet', the
fusion quartet he formed in 1994. Moreover, he co-works with the group
'Unplugged' as well with the Funky/Rock'n'Roll band 'Memphis Hearts', a
group he co-founded and which recently performed in the famous Milan clubs
of 'Capolinea' and 'Scimmie'.
STEVE WASHINGTON said : "…Mauro is a very talented bass player, not only does he listen to what I am playing, but he has a great feel, and his Fretless bass playing is outstanding. It was an honour to work with such an excellent musician, and it was very easy to lock into a good groove with him because we are both on the same wavelength with music, he's great".
